Lesnar to enter the octagon VS Mir

Superstar Brock Lesnar has already garnered much aclaim for his transition from pro wrestling to mixed martial arts. Now the former NCAA Champion and four-time All-American is ready for the next step in his career - taking on the best heavyweights in the world in the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization.

UFC President Dana White announced the signing of Lesnar to a promotional contract during the pay-per-view broadcast of UFC 77 at the US Bank Arena.“I don’t think there are any other pro wrestlers that can make the transition to MMA, except for Brock Lesnar,” said White. “And if you look at his amateur wrestling credentials, his size, and what he’s done, this guy can end up being a force in the heavyweight division of the UFC.”

After finishing his college career with an astounding 106-5 record, Lesnar became a household name as a professional wrestler, and even had a short stint in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings. After his stunning high school and college wrestling career Lesnar was in need of a new challenge in his life, and he turned to mixed martial arts, where world-class wrestlers like himself have had enormous success. On June 2, 2007, Lesnar made his long-awaited MMA debut and took only 69 seconds to destroy Min Soo Kim with strikes that led to a submission.

Penn dominated Joe "Daddy" from the begining of the fight ending it in a bloody rear naked choke. It seemed as though Stevenson was just outclassed by the more powerfull, flexible and focused Penn.

Stevenson was opened up late in the first round with a glancing elbow. Stevenson knew as soon as it hit that he was cut wiping the flowing blood from his forhead and looking at his hand. Although it seemed not to crush his drive, it proved to be too much and shortly into the second round Stevenson gave up his back.

Penn (13-4-1) immediately went on the offense after the win and called out Sherk, who is serving a six-month ban for a positive steroids test. During the post fight interview with Joe Rogan Penn stated " Sherk, your dead!". Sherk then entered the ring to a round of boos from the Newcastle crowd. Penn then re-entered the ring and shook hands with the former champ and stated that their fight would be a good one.

Jerimy Horn Returns in UFC 81

Jerimy Horn will return to the Octagon for the first time since back to 2006 , the respected middleweight contender will replace injured Thales Leites and face Nate Marquardt on February 2nd's UFC 81 card in Las Vegas.

When Horn started training in 1996 he had big dreams of going to the UFC. Horn definitly has the experience to persevere in his bout against Leites with his 87-14-6 record recording wins over the likes of Chuck Liddell, Trevor Prangley, and Chael Sonnen.

This addition to the fight card at UFC 81 will be sure to make it one of the better shows in recent months.
